*Pottery is grounding as it is literally earth! What can be more grounding than that!

It encourage the maker to be in the moment demanding focus and concentration. Therefore it is a great stress reliever and also engage in the healing process of creation.

It increase an optimistic outlook and enable improvement in spontaneity which provides an outlet for grieve and boosting confidence and self esteem.

*Working with clay teaches balance between maintaining control and let go. Insufficient pressure to the clay or to much pressure might result in a fragile structure or collapse. The same apply for life.

*As we shape clay we develop appreciation for imperfections and asymmetry. This teaches us to respect individuality and see the beauty of our own special flaws in life .

* Learning a new technique and finishing a new creation built self esteem Because there is such a lot of possibilities and avenues in pottery, it contributes to a life time commitment of learning and maintaining a productive hobby.

*To make pottery you need persistence and patience. Making great things require time and patience.

You learn to enjoy the process, have compassion with yourself and keep going when things get difficult.

Pottery is not only mental but also physical. It gently exercise hands, wrists and arms and improve joint movement. It also improves motor skills and hand eye coordination.

*It can be a way to connect socially with other potters, friends and family when doing something together in an event or you can just relax in your own silence.
